Montana weddings under

more dramatic skies.

Today I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of Andrew Doolittle and Laura Paye. It was so delightful to attend, not in the roll of the photographer. I was not the hired gun, but just a family friend with a camera.

I snapped a few during the ceremony before they moved inside the barn, dodging a brief mountain shower. And then just a few during the ceremony inside. Later the skies brighten up, I saw my opportunity and quickly snagged Andrew and Laura and ran them up the hill in back for 3 minutes before the hired photographer came a running. Literally I had 3 minutes and I'm so stoked about the images I found. Actually I think they are way better than if I had had the luxury of 30 minutes! So brief. So spontaneous. I love these images.

Andrew and Laura, it was wonderful to attend your wedding. Thanks very much, I hope you love the photos.

Wow, dad. these portraits knock it out of the park. Laura and Andrew both glow, literally. I'm not sure if these are just the best pictures of the year or if I'm imparting my love for these two people onto my love of these photographs, or BOTH.
